About Project 66
Before America’s interstate highways reshaped travel, there was a road that embodied the spirit of a nation: Route 66. Originally a practical route for farmers and families heading west during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, it soon became a symbol of adventure, optimism, and the freedom of the open road. Dubbed “The Mother Road” by John Steinbeck, Route 66 defined the golden age of American road trips, where neon signs, quirky motels, and bustling diners drew countless travelers.
Today, though bypassed and fragmented, Route 66 remains a muse for artists, photographers, and dreamers alike. Its abandoned towns and vintage roadside attractions whisper stories of a bygone era, offering a nostalgic journey through America’s history and heartland.
This photobook is the culmination of my solo road trip in 2023, capturing the evocative landscapes and forgotten corners of Route 66. Through my lens, I hope to share the timeless beauty, character, and history of this legendary road with you.
